About Serata-thon

The Saint Nicholas Charity Serata for Charity, an annual fundraising event held each year since 2002, is part of Saint Patrick's Catholic American Community’s outreach to the poor, the ill, the refugee, the aged and the homeless in Rome. Over the last several years, the great success of this event comes from the commitment, creativity and energy of our community members and supportive friends, the Serata Organizing Committee (SOC) and Parish Council.

Due to COVID-19 this year, the event has been transformed into a 'Charity Serata-thon', inviting our community of Saint Patrick's parishioners, alumni and dear friends, near and far, to welcome the holiday season with the same spirit of Thanksgiving and Christmas giving.

Our ten-day 2020 St. Nicholas Charity Serata-thon kicks off on Thanksgiving Day, 26th November by accepting donations to the charities, especially in honor of our former Rector Rev. Gregory Apparcel, CSP who just returned to the US to be the Director of Formation at the Paulist Fathers’ House of Mission and Studies in Washington, D.C. Father Greg has lovingly served Rome’s community of American and English-speaking Catholics for over 20  years, and is beloved in his active spearheading of past annual Seratas to benefit the charities.

The Fundraising Marathon will last until noon on Dec 5th with a Virtual Raffle Drawing that evening, which will be Facebook-casted live. Donations for the charities will remain open until midnight, especially for our friends in other parts of the world, but noon Rome-time is the deadline to enter the Raffle. Donations are always accepted via St. Patrick website, but are not part of this Raffle.
